Dr Rashad Fahmi
MBBS FFA RCSI 1984 Dublin

Dr Fahmi is one of our qualified anaesthetists having over 25 years experience in all specialities of anaesthesia. He has been with The Sterling Dental Referral Centre since 1996, providing general anaesthesia in the past for dental treatment and currently providing sedation for both adults and children. His hobbies include reading and movies.




Dr Eswaran Velaudapillai
MBBS DA FFARCSI

Dr Velu qualified from the Colombo Medical School in Sri Lanka in 1977 and having spent his early years as the doctor in charge of a rural hospital in Sri Lanka emigrated to Britain to train in Anaesthesia.

His initial years in training was primarily in the West Midlands and then in Derby and Nottingham where he did his training as a registrar. Meanwhile he obtained his DA from London and FFARCS from Ireland.

He has been involved with teaching medical students, paramedics, student nurses, midwives, operative Dept. practitioners and recently Anaesthetic practitioners.

His interests are in Dental anaesthesia, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Urology and trauma and orthopaedics. He has been involved with dental anaesthesia since 1993 and sedation for dentistry since 1998. Of special interest to him is the provision of safe dental anaesthesia for special needs dentistry in the hospital setting where anxious patients with severe learning disabilities, autistic and dental phobic patients are provided with general anaesthesia. He firmly believes in team spirit and is a very useful player with the Sterling House team.


Dr Anthony John Caen
BDS Otago 1974

Dr Caen qualified from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1974. He has vast experience of providing dentistry under both general anaesthesia and sedation as well as over 30 years experience of general dental practice. He has several qualifications in this field including the Diploma in Sedation and Pain Management from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa and was among the firstto get the Certificate in Dental Sedation and Pain Management from University College, London.

Outside dentistry he enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, dog walking and timepermitting, skiing.
